Building Envelope Expertise Since 1994

Evo Sealants was founded in 2014 by David Hofelich — but the story starts in 1994. After two decades building one of the Valley's most trusted sealant operations, David relaunched under a new name with the same crew, the same customers, and the same uncompromising standards. Evolution Sealants was the natural next chapter.

Abe Hofelich joined his father in September 2005 and has been with the company ever since — learning the trade, managing projects, and earning the trust of general contractors, property managers, and building owners throughout Arizona. Today, Abe leads Evo Sealants as Owner, carrying forward the same commitment to quality that built the company's reputation.

David retired in early 2026 and remains an integral part of the company as Founder and Senior Advisor — lending decades of industry knowledge, hard-won relationships, and the kind of perspective that only comes from building something from the ground up. When he's not consulting, you'll find him camping, at the water's edge, or finding a reason to stay busy.

"We're an independent contractor — not tied to a single manufacturer. That means every project gets a custom approach with the right materials for the job, not whatever's on the truck."

As a dual-licensed Arizona contractor, Evo Sealants operates across both commercial and residential sectors, delivering precision building envelope solutions on jobs ranging from retail big-box stores to multi-story commercial buildings and parking structures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions Arizona contractors, property managers, and building owners ask most.

Firestopping seals gaps and openings in fire-rated walls and floors to prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and toxic gases between compartments. Arizona building codes and IBC requirements mandate firestopping in all commercial construction — Evo Sealants installs Hilti, 3M, and Tremco systems to keep your building compliant and occupants safe.

Most commercial-grade sealants last 10–20 years under normal conditions, but Arizona's 115°F+ summers, UV exposure, and monsoon moisture cycles accelerate breakdown. We typically recommend inspection every 5–7 years and use specification-driven products from DOWSIL, Pecora, and Sika that are engineered for extreme climates.

Waterproofing prevents moisture intrusion through the building envelope — think deck coatings, below-grade membranes, and traffic-bearing systems. Firestopping is a life-safety system that seals penetrations in fire-rated assemblies. Different products, different codes, different installation methods. Evo Sealants is licensed and experienced in both.

Yes — expansion joint removal and replacement is one of our core services. We work on parking structures, commercial buildings, retail centers, and more across the Valley of the Sun. Our master journeyman caulkers are material-agnostic and work with whatever product the specification calls for.

Pricing depends on joint type, material specified, accessibility, and linear footage. Commercial projects typically range from a few thousand to six figures for large-scale removal and replacement. We provide detailed proposals with transparent line items — reach out for a free quote tailored to your project scope.

Evo Sealants holds a dual Arizona Registrar of Contractors license (ROC #293802) covering both commercial and residential work. Our field crew brings decades of hands-on experience in joint sealants, waterproofing, and firestopping across every major building type in the Phoenix metro area.
